So it's been a few months since I've updated this...

Okie, so you know I'm working at a department store, which pays alright, but the hours tend to be pretty inconsistent.

I've also set up my own small business dealing with Personal Fitness Training, Cosplay & Jewelry... Then there's the (mostly) annoying inconvenience of having government-enforced obligations! So that's eaten the bulk of my time!

Oh that and my PC... I managed to get my PC back up and running (1st the power supply blew, then the DVD-ROM drive died, all in the space of a month!) which got me obsessed with a new-ish RPG called ToEE. This game was an incredible find, as it was included in an uber-value-bundle called Ultimate D&D. This pack consisted of;

Baldur's Gate & Expansion Pack
Baldur's Gate II & Expansion Pack
Neverwinter Nights and Both Expansion Packs
Icewind Dale & Expansion Pack
Icewind Dale II
Temple of Elemental Evil (ToEE)
Demon Stone
and the latest D&D RTS-RPG Dragonshard

ALL in one pack! Interesting thing is I've only seen this pack once, ever! I even inquired at my local EB & they had absolutely no idea it even existed!

My 28th b'day came and went quite quietly. Well, duh, most of my friends are new so they wouldn't know, and my family are all over the world so it's not like I could have a big party... Then again, it's not a major b'day, so I'm not too fussed. Maybe I'll try something on my 30th! A couple of days later I joined fellow Otakus at Chelsea beach for a day of getting roasted (quite a few of us were pretty well sunburnt!) and I made a few new friends, which is always good!

An interesting job offer came up, which I'll be taking (government-enforced obligations and all!) that's a bit of a trip, but at least it's a gym job, running my own business & promoting it out of an established gym. Which'll be good, since I need all the experience I can get! We'll see how it goes, eh?

So it's been a while since last journal posting, with quite a bit happening!

I've finally landed a job that at least pays regularly (see last journal entry!) and was up at 0600-ish on Wed (that would be the 24th) to work... I'm glad the pay is pretty good, above the average retail wage (so I've been told). I have a few more shifts this week, as the store is opening tomorrow (Thursday 1st Nov) and I even have a Sunday shift which pays even better! :D

Last week was quite a killer with early starts on the aforementioned Wed, Sat AND Sunday (where I was up since 0500-ish). Why would I drag myself up at that ungodly hour you ask? I had seminars to attend on the weekends, which were so relevant & helpful there was no way I could miss them!

On a sad note, (as noted on my previous journal entry), my posture is *WAAAY* nowhere near as good as I had originally thought! Those lovely weekend seminars (the last of which mercifully ends this Sat Nov 3rd) are *ALL* about posture! It's simply amazing what this simple weekend seminars do to my knowledge-base... What was even more amazing was the fact that all of us that attended these seminars, although elite (or at very least highly competent) in our fields, were all posturally imbalanced! We all came away with that much more than we invested; I say "invested" instead of "paid", because it's clearly a total win-win situation. Infinately relevant information (which would take years to research on our own and even longer to decipher, if at all!) *AND* the cost of the seminars are all tax-claimable!

Soooo... That's been the latest happenings, mostly good..... Oh but unfortunately, I'm gonna miss Worldwide D&D Day *AGAIN*! Oh well, sacrifices have to be made I guess!

Weeeeell,

It's been a pretty uneventful week, trying to chase up a potential client who keeps blaming work for not being available for even the initial *FREE* consultation to discuss their fitness/health/nutrition/all of the above goals & how they can achieve them w/ me, etc. Then there's the other, 1st client I made who's life totally barged in the way of training...

Buuuut... As if out of the blue, a *DEFINITE* blessing from above:

I was training today, as I normally do in the afternoons (best time for me, right before dinner), which initially didn't go well at all, with my shoulder feeling sore & stiff (injury from advanced upper body exercises during my personal trainer's course, which is usually under control, but not today...)

So I finished what I needed to do outside (read: what would normally wreck the furniture if I did it inside!) & went to the living room to complete my core/ab work... So I decided I'd try somethang I had attempted (and failed miserably at) um, 2-3 months ago, which was an advanced core/abs exercise: kneeling of a swiss ball. I was totally expecting to fail miserably as usual, but no, I *ACTUALLY* managed to get up onto that damned wobbly airbag (which is a mightly comfortable computer seat, mind you!) and *STAY* on it for over 60 seconds! Not only that, but I was able to repeat this for 3 sets! Mind you, I did "cheat" a little by steadying myself between 2 chairs co I don't go flying off into the TV/wall/window (a very likely possibility!)

So that's been my latest encouragement! YAAAAAY!!!

Hmmmm...

Where do I begin? Manifest '07 came and went, with me (typically) in a panic over my costume 3 weeks before, then getting the flu 2 weeks out and then there was the whole thang about *IMPORTANT* cosplay accessories, but I digress... I enjoyed myself, as did :~princessshiny:, which is all that matters/ed. Which also led me to better planning leading up to manifest or any 'con for that matter...

As you know by now, I've set up my own business, which was going along nicely, except for the bit about clients. I had one signed up nicely, then it seems like his entire life got in the way in less than 7 days! So it's back to chasing up the original people that were keenly interested in being trained, but they don't seem to have any time, or so they say! At least my aunt appreciates my training, as I did manage to throw together an program that completely substituted her entire gym routine, which was a plus.....

A picnic involving anyone from Manifest who could attend was had last Sat (the 6th), which was very amusing to say the least, especially participating in the ingenious (or brilliant, etc.) insanity that was THE BEACHBALL! More on that if interests arise!

So that's been the latest, I'm just glad IU haven't lost my touch in making Maille, or my mood would be that much darker (as if it isn't, most of the time!)

Until then!

As you may well know by now, after almost a year & a half of being unable to find a job in Singapore (the country itself didn't help things at all!), I decided to pack it all in and move down to the infinitely more pleasant & livable Melbourne, Australia. I then pursued a career-change in a related field: Certificate III & IV in Fitness. As I stated in my previous journal entry, after many long weeks of classes (since March this year), I'm now not only fully qualified (ALL my work was done, with minimal hitches!), registered (simple, once all my work/assignments/tests were out of the way!) AND insured Personal Trainer! YAAAAAAAYYY!!!

So as of today, I can actually train clients on my own,  finally making my own money (very good money, actually!). YAAAAAAY!!!
